Housing:

The Resurrection Project:
The Resurrection Project (TRP), founded with a mission to build relationships and challenge people to act on their faith and values to create healthy communities through organizing, education, and community development, has leveraged that initial $30,000 to over $146 million in community reinvestment in the neighborhoods of Pilsen, Little Village, and Back of the Yards on Chicago’s Southwest side.  TRP works alongside residents to create healthy communities through vehicles like affordable housing, financial literacy, and promoting access to education and health care. 

The Heartland Alliance:
The Heartlland Alliance builds and advocates for safe, high-quality housing and supportive services for people experiencing homelessness, poverty, or chronic illness.

HOW
HOW has a number of programs and services to ensure program participants achieve housing stability and economic independence. Programs are designed around proven methodologies and evaluations are part of the design.

Healthcare:
ACCESS
ACCESS operates 50 community health center locations and one oral health center in underserved, low-income neighborhoods throughout the Chicago region, providing close to 600,000 primary care visits to 200,000 individuals. Not a free clinic but does offer a sliding scale of fees according to income.

The Heartland Alliance:
Works to ensure comprehensive health care—medical, dental, mental health, and substance use treatment-- is fully available to people experiencing poverty or trauma.

Legal:

LCBH
LCBH believes that all persons have a right to safe, decent, and affordable housing on a non-discriminatory basis.We promote the availability of and access to such housing and support low and moderate-income households in Chicago through legal representation, individual and public advocacy, supportive social services and education.

The Heartland Alliance:
Provides legal protection for people in danger, including refugees, vulnerable migrants, and others fleeing violent situations at home and abroad.

CVLS
CVLS provides free legal services to people in need at absolutely no cost.  CVLS serves as a general practice law firm for the disadvantaged.  They handle everyday cases such as divorce, bankruptcy, tort defense, consumer cases, adoptions, minor and disabled adult guardianship, immigration, etc. CVLS works with volunteers from large and small firms and from corporate America.

Other:
Jane Addams
RealBenefits is a program that connects JARC (Jane Addams Resource Center) program participants and other community members with the help they need. Through the RealBenefits web-based application, we will gladly perform sophisticated and accurate eligibility screenings for state and national public benefit programs. Such programs may pay for some or all of the costs of health care, nutrition, child care, utilities, and other vital services.
